Rugby League Tournament Excursion
VET Sport Coaching - 22nd March 2013
Students from Years 11 and 12 VET Sport Coaching travelled to Morry Breen Oval on Friday to officiate at the Primary Schools 7-a-side Rugby League tournament. Wadalba students assisted the NRL Development officers in a variety of roles, including touch judges and scorers, but the most challenging of these was as referees. Twenty-nine students attended, with sixteen students taking on this difficult role. Wadalba students shone, not only with their uniform and manners but with their competence. Confidence and assertiveness developed throughout the day and teamwork was a real highlight. The supervising teacher, Mr Riley, was impressed wit the maturity and industrious attitude adopted by all students as they expanded on their "comfort zones" and developed their work ready skills. This valuable opportunity was made possible through Wadalba's ongoing partnership with NRL Development. We look forward to similar opportunities in the near future to gain valuable work experience in the Sport and Recreation industry.
