Course description:
Students wishing to have Information and Software Technology (IST) included on their School Certificate need to complete, as a minimum the 100 hour IST100 course– Connecting With the World. Students may select, at the completion of IST100 to continue and extend their study to achieve Information and Software Technology (IST) as a 200 hour course towards their School Certificate OR students may choose to begin Information Technology (IT) IT100 to gain School Certificate, Australian Quality Framework (AQF), Vocational Education & Training (VET) and ADVANCED HSC qualifications. Course requirements:
Assessment for all units will be based on various strategies including, practical projects, reports, and presentations, written and practical tests. Information and Software Technology on the School Certificate is not a prerequisite for Computing based courses in the Higher School Certificate.
Students will need to purchase an A4 workbook for this course.
Students can progress into further computer based courses including Information Technology (VET), Software Design and Development, Ind tech Multimedia or Information Processing Technology in years 11 and 12.
