Course description:
Textiles is a "hands-on" practical subject that builds on a student's creativity. The course allows students to apply their imaginative skills to complete design projects within the textiles framework. It is a "student based" course; students are in control of the planning, management and completion of their own projects.
Students learn to select, use and manipulate appropriate materials, equipment and techniques to produce quality textile projects.
Course Structure:
Textiles (100 indicative hours)
- Fashion knowledge and application
- Properties and performance of textiles
- Design projects applicable to:-
- Basic fabric and construction skills
- Australian wool industry
- Fashion trends
- Fabric decoration/art
The qualifications possible from a study of the Textiles course: 100 or 200 hours School Certification
Course requirements:
Display folder, A4 exercise book, fabric for projects, pins, needles, thread to match fabric.

Additionally: Excursion costs
Refunds: Students who exit the course before its completion may be eligible for a partial refund of fees. The amount of the refund will be pro-rata, dependent upon the time and resources the student has spent in the course.

It is a "student based" course; students are in total control of the planning, management and completion of their own projects.
Students learn to select, use and manipulate appropriate materials, equipment and techniques to produce quality textile projects.
This course continues the pattern of study for students who chose Textiles 100. Each topic will be explored in greater detail and extension activities will be included.
Course Structure: Textiles (200 indicative hours)
- Fashion knowledge and application.
- Properties and performance of textiles.
- Design projects applicable to:-
- Basic fabric and construction skills.
- Australian wool industry.
- Fashion trends.
- Fabric decoration/art.
- Fancy dress/costumes.
- Specialty fabrics – formal wear
- Lingerie
- Toys
