Special Education Faculty

The Support Unit at Wadalba Community School delivers quality teaching and learning to students with special needs from Kindergarten to Year 12.  It currently consists of five classes; three secondary classes - (two multi-categorical and an IO/IS) and two infant/primary classes - (multi-categorical).

The faculty strives to work in partnership with parents, carers, external organisations and fellow teaching colleagues to develop unique and relevant Personal Learning Plans (PLP'S) for all its students. Our programs focus on providing a least restrictive environment in which students can partake in regular mainstream subjects in which they excel in. This subject specialisation can be supplemented with Life Skills subjects and provide the individual student with a "blended" study pattern tailored to their unique needs. Conversely, the student can engage with a fulltime Life Skills pattern of study in which differentiated curriculum drives the teaching and learning process.

Ultimately, our classrooms are fun, innovative and embrace 21st century teaching and learning pedagogy.
