Why study Industrial Technology Timber?

 

Timber is a versatile material that allows easy construction of products. The skills learnt in this course will help you develop hand and machinery skills. These skills will assist you if you chose a trade or if you ever want to make a product for yourself such as a kennel, table or even add a room to your house. Skills learnt in this area will stay with you throughout your life.

 

 

Working in the Industrial Technology (Timber) industry involves:

 

  • Knowing different woods and their properties
  • Designing products with wood as the material
  • Working outdoors
  • Making homes and collaborating with other trades

This course develops student knowledge and skills relating to the selection, use and application of materials, tools, machines and processes in woodwork through the planning and production of quality projects.

  • Drawing production and reading drawings
  • OH&S practices in the workshop
  • Hand tools and power tools
  • Report writing

 

The qualifications possible from a study of the Industrial Technology (Timber)course:

100 Hour School Certification.
