Course description:
This course enables students to develop knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities and requirements of child carers. Students are faced with real life experiences of parents and regularly study case studies as a way of understanding the complex nature of rearing and caring for children.
Course Structure:
Child Studies (100 indicative hours)
- Puberty
- Parenthood ~ conception, pregnancy, labour and birth
- Child / infant health and nutrition.
The qualifications possible from a study of the Child Studies course:
100 or 200 hours School Certification
