Macquarie University Year 7 Visit

Students will participate in an interactive guided tour of Macquarie University Museum and a hands-on investigation of ancient artefacts.  Students will have the opportunity to try their hand at the many tasks of an archaeologist by engaging with human remains, ceramic materials, coins, inscriptions, organic remains and more.  This allows students to develop their skills of historical enquiry, problem-solving, deductive reasoning and creative thinking in order to draw meaning from the sources.

Targeted Sports Program Years 6 to 7 Trials for 2020

All trials begin at 12.15pm for registration, with selections commencing at 12.30pm.  Students need to bring a drink bottle, wear appropriate sporting attire for their activity and bring food if needed. Please see the attachment for more information.

To support students study of Medieval History, Year 8 have the opportunity to attend the St Ives Medieval Faire on Sunday, 22nd September 2019.  Events throughout the day include a jousting tournament, battlefield shows, a living medieval village with workshops all day, kid's shows and experiences.

As an important part of their learning in Geography this term, students will attend Taronga Zoo.  They will participate in the immersive program 'The Earth's Environment' in the new 'Habitat Classrooms' (these are classrooms with living vegetation and animals inside).  Students will compare the Australian environment to that of Indonesia and explore how deforestation impacts on wild animal populations.  Before and after our wokshops, students will tour the zoo, visiting various animal exhibits and the Tiger Trek exhibit, which also explores the impacts of deforestation.

Poetry in Action Incursion Year 7 and 8
